The NRPS in America People
in America have shown interest in the NRPS, in particular
because of the registration options for breeding products and the fact that the studbook
and the breeder are in direct contact. This has resulted in an American visit. in 1997. of
an NRPS delegation. During their visit they have approved a
number of breeding stallions.
As in the
Netherlands. subsequently. an annual stallion selection will be organized and stallions
from the previous year will have to perform their performance test. When the oldest
progeny reach the age of three. the stallions will have to present their progeny for
assessment.
Mares and approved and/or acknowledged stallions will be
registered with the NRPS/NA. This independent association is a
collective member of the NRPS in the Netherlands. The objective
of the American Association is to follow the rules and breeding policies set in the
Netherlands.
Breeding with an approved or
acknowledged NRPS stallion ensures registration in the
foal book, provided that the regulatory requirements for blood percentage have been
met. If the mare is not registered with the NRPS, this
will not adversly effect the admittance of a foal to the foal book.
